Scripps Ranch Maternity Session | Wells Family
This pregnancy announcement at Lakeview Park in Scripps Ranch was incredibly special.
The last time I saw this family was at their homecoming a little over a year ago. I was midway through my pregnancy and their sweet daughter had just started walking. When they let me know they were expecting another little one, we immediately went into planning mode. A cake was ordered, a date was set, a park was secured, and we were on our way.
Now, my son is almost a year old and I find myself thinking a lot about what I’d do differently if I could go back in time.
I’d tell myself not to worry so much. One day, he’ll be able to burp on his own, ask for more food, play independently. My freezer stash may go down, but I’ll build it back up again. He’ll get many daycare colds, but we’ll get through them all. He and our cat will be best friends - or rather, he’ll love our cat and our cat will be scared of his affection. It’ll all work out.
Earlier this week, one of my friends said, “everything happens as it’s supposed to.” Another friend implored me let people help. If I could go back in time, I’d remind myself both of those things over and over and over again.
In the end, all I can do is look at my almost one-year-old and marvel at what we did to get to this point, and celebrate where we’re going. In the words of Kate Bowler, life is so hard, but life is so beautiful.
